Playlist: Second Semester Jams

When I first started blogging, I had a lot of fun putting together little playlists for you guys, and I wanted to do the same today! Now unlike those initial lists, I don't really have a theme going here. This is simply a list of songs I seem to be repeating this semester, some because they have a message I needed to hear, others when I needed to chill and do homework, others for reflective, quiet evenings, and still others that are just plain fun to listen to. (Ya know, for those kitchen dance parties that I have regularly.) I have a pretty broad taste in music, so there's that, and I can't really even promise a consistent mood and tempo with this playlist. It's simply a hodge-podge of things, but regardless, I love listening to others' playlists and thought you might too!

The Scientist / Coldplay
Grow Up / Paramore
Interlude: Moving On / Paramore
Shake It Out / Florence + the Machine
Love Yourself / Justin Bieber
Stressed Out / Twenty One Pilots
Golden Days / Panic! At the Disco
Electric Love / BØRNS
Ophelia / The Lumineers
Pity Party / Melanie Martinez
Wild Things / Alessia Cara
Stone / Alessia Cara
Blue / Marina and the Diamonds
Colors / Halsey
Hello My Old Heart / The Oh Hellos
I Lived / OneRepublic
Roses / The Chainsmokers
Up 2 U / Walk the Moon

Let me know  if you share any of these Spring-semester faves, or if you have a favorite song you would add to a list like this! I am always looking for new music!

Stay lovely,

PS: If you are missing the Wonderland downloads and DIY's, bear with me! I'm sure they will be back at some point, but I'm not stressing and neither should you my friend! In the meantime, just make all the food! (That's what I've been doing...)

Feel-Good, Self-Love Playlist

Hello friends! While I am contentedly boycotting New Year’s resolutions this January, I know there are a lot of you out there going after some big changes in your lives! There are also many going back to school and work and the real world after the holidays, and that in itself is pretty tough!

With that in mind, I thought that now might just be the time to share a playlist I’ve been cultivating for quite some time now. It’s overflowing with positivity, self-love, and reminders that it’s okay to be strong and independent but, most importantly, completely human. Honestly, there are days when a playlist like this would drive me crazy with excess hype!

But then there are days where I need something like this. If you are feeling down in the rough and tumble of daily life and crazy pressures, this might be just the thing for you too.

I’m sure I will be adding to this list as time goes on, but for now, here is my feel-good, self-love playlist (on Spotify) with some of my very favorite artists and even a couple throwback tracks! (There’s even a J-Biebs song there… I know, I was shocked too!) You’ve probably heard a lot of these, but maybe there are a few new songs to make you smile!

Scars to Your Beautiful / Alessia Cara
Close Your Eyes / Meghan Trainor
human / Christina Perri
Human / Krewella
Try / Colbie Caillat
All Fall Down / OneRepublic
Fight Song / Rachel Platten
Love Myself / Hailee Steinfeld
Brave / Sara Bareilles
I’ll Show You / Justin Bieber
Don’t Be So Hard on Yourself / Jess Glynne
i believe / Christina Perri
Daydream / Tori Kelly

Stay lovely,

PS: Read this if you were disappointed by me not making New Year’s resolutions! Or even if you don’t care! I’m not defending my laziness. Rather, I’m just giving you someone else’s resolutions to read, and they are honestly fantastically written and words we could all take to heart.

Cozy Throwback Playlist

There’s something about fall that makes me want to listen to all the acoustic music. And it’s especially nostalgic for me because singer-songwriter style music was essentially all I listened to in middle school. I thought I was really individual with my “hippie music” Pandora station of Colbie Caillat, Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, and so forth. (I also wore a lot of animal t-shirts and was pretty hard core on my family to recycle. Because, ya know, middle school.)

Here are some of my favorite selections from those days that I still totally love! They make me want to curl up in a blanket with hot chocolate and relish in the nostalgia :) (The middle school smiley face is necessary as well.)

Who’s on your go to fall playlist?

Stay lovely,

Saturday Playlist: Girl Power

I have a little playlist for you today featuring some fun, new-ish female artists. So dance along a bit and have an amazing weekend!

Click here to jam out! And let me know who's on your weekend playlist!

Stay lovely,

A Golden Opportunity... For Jamming Out!

You know the weekend's going to be crazy when I start using puns that bad.

Wordplay aside though, I am so excited for the next couple days and the months to follow! I'm finishing up packing (basically everything I own) for college and will be driving up bright and early tomorrow to start a new chapter in my life. I am glowing with anticipation! Or could I say, sparkling? (Okay yeah, this is basically my overwhelmed mental state in word form.)

So as I pack, I will be jamming out and basking in the golden glow of new opportunities awaiting me. Care to join in? Here are six metallic tracks straight from my current vibe!

1. Gold // Imagine Dragons
2. Fire N Gold // Bea Miller
3. Burning Gold // Christina Perri
4. House of Gold // twenty one pilots (Sorry the video is really weird!)
5. Gold // Wake Owl
6. Gold On the Ceiling // The Black Keys

Or watch the full playlist here! And leave a comment on how you pack for a temporary move--this is going to be a process! *nervous emoji*

Update: Find the Spotify playlist here

Stay lovely,

PS: I compiled a playlist of Upbeat Summer Love Songs from last Saturday's post as well!

Upbeat Love Songs for Your Summer Saturdays

Happy Saturday! Obviously the weekend means party time and so I thought a mini Saturday playlist might be in order!

Basically, I have always been quite a bit of romantic, even since the age of six or so when I began “shipping” couples in Disney movies. I just love love! Similarly, I have an entire playlist of love songs on my phone just because it’s kinda lovely to listen to. I will admit, however, that one slow, sappy ballad after another is not the most pumped up way to spend a sunny Saturday afternoon. So behold: five fantastically upbeat love songs to sing at the top of your lungs whether you’re in love or not! (They’re just too fun either way!)

1. Somebody Loves You // Betty Who
2. Aquaman // Walk The Moon
3. Be My Forever // Christina Perri
4. Something I Need // OneRepublic
5. Still Into You // Paramore
6. Let’s Love // Echosmith

Update: Listen to the playlist on Spotify by clicking here :)
